Labour Relations

Occupational Health & Safety

The Occupational Health and Safety Act is the cornerstone legislation for workplace health and safety in South Africa. The purpose of the act is to protect workers from health and safety hazards on the job. OHS assists with the procedures for dealing with workplace hazards and provides for enforcement of the law where compliance has not been achieved voluntarily.

Kuyafundisa assists business with the following services: OHS Workplace Audit, Health & Safety Plans and Emergency Evacuation Plans. We also provide the following OHS Training: First Aid Level 1, SHE Reps, Basic Fire Fighting, Fire Marshals & Evacuations, Safety Officers, Chemical Handling and OHS Audits and Incident Investigation.

Employment Equity

Employment equity is the use of hiring policies that encourage fair representation of members of minority groups, women, or other people who suffer discrimination. Employment equity is valued as a means to enhance diversity. The Employment Equity Act requires all business that employ 50 or more people or exceed certain industry thresholds, to submit Employment Equity Reports to the Department of Labour before October each year (or January for electronic submissions).
